1870-1890 - Underpinnings
A bustle gown was the second project, for which we had another six-week deadline to complete the outfit including all the underpinnings.
The first few weeks of the project were dedicated to making all the underpinnings (the combinations, corset, bustle cage and petticoat). I particularly enjoyed making the corset. This was my first experience of working with bones and creating something so structured.
