1870-1890 - Bustle Gown

After completing all the underpinnings for the bustle gown I began work on the gown itself. The schedule for this whole project included: Due to the intricately structured nature of the gown, this project introduced me to many new skills. This was my first experience of draping on the stand to create the bodice, apron and bustle pattern. Draping is such a creative method to work out a pattern, allowing freedom to modify the look and feel, but also in creating an excellent fit to the final garment.
